 With auditing and testing complete, our expert team ensures your assets are wiped clean of all data, ensuring your personal or company information remains impeccably secure. Once complete, we'll settle up with you and report back what we've found and what we plan to do with your e-waste.
Data Sanitation
 Our team takes your personal and corporate security very seriously. All hard drives we receive are overwritten to United States Department of Defense specifications, using NEAT, a proprietary overwrite software system developed by Newport's experts. If data cannot be wiped, the drive is degaussed or destroyed. Additionally, we remove all customer identifiers or asset tags from the equipment.
Disposition
 Assets determined to be obsolete, damaged or beyond repair are disposed of in an environmentally safe and responsible way. Our commitment to the environment is unparalleled in our industry.
We are one of three companies in the world to earn the stringent and prestigious E-Steward Certification. The Certification, granted by the Basel Action Network, an environmental watchdog organization, means this:
- Newport guarantees that all toxic components of e-waste are identified and responsibly disposed of
- Newport ensures e-waste is never dumped in landfills or disposed of irresponsibly
- Newport tracks all toxic materials from e-waste through final disposition
- Newport is committed to the health and well-being of its employees and workers
Asset Recovery
 The assets we determine are usable are wiped clean, refurbished and added to Newport's inventory of computer parts and electronic equipment for sale. Many of our customers are looking for used or refurbished equipment or parts and we're pleased to offer this service, as part of our commitment to recycling and sustainability.
Settlement
 Based upon the audit and test results, we'll provide you with a report detailing each item submitted to us and what we uncovered. You will also receive a Certificate of Disposal, outlining all of the assets that have been safely and responsibly disposed.
Finally, within 30 days of receipt of the assets, you'll receive payment for any material found to have value. Should there be any discrepancies with the original quote, we'll notify you in writing, describing any difference in condition or functionality prior to settlement finalization.
